Deb Dogotch

Elementary Spanish Teacher

Deb comes to SJA with a unique resume of accolades and experiences. She graduated with high distinction from U of M with a BS in Nursing and was nominated to the Sigma Theta Tau National Nursing Society. She later earned a Spanish Language diploma from Kingsway Missionary Institute in Texas and an MA in Education with emphasis on Early Childhood from Concordia University in St. Paul.

For 29 years, Deb worked on the mission field in Mexico. While there, she especially enjoyed working with children, and she somehow found time to homeschool three children of her own! After returning to the States she worked as an interpreter/translator for Head Start and then a preschool teacher for 9 years.

The Lord has given Deb a love for children and a passion to see them grow both spiritually and academically. In addition to teaching at SJA, she also helps with the preschool/Kinder Sunday school programs at her church.

Three things Deb loves to do are study the Bible, create art, and visit Mexico. For the past 4+ years, she’s been a part of the Bible Study Fellowship weekly study. She’s also a member of the Brush and Pallet Club in Alexandria and enjoys doing art there on Tuesdays. And when she’s able, Deb delights in returning to Mexico – spending time with the believers there, encouraging them, and evangelizing.

Deb is married to Roger Duncan, who is a special blessing and encouragement in her life. She has 3 adult children. Her oldest daughter, Amber, is married and lives in Texas with her husband and two boys, ages 6 and 2. Her middle daughter, Katie, lives in England with her husband. Her son, Eric, is single and lives in Minneapolis.

Roger and Deb attend Alexandria Covenant Church.
