Corrine Bennett

3-5th Grade Teacher

Corrine earned her bachelor’s degree from Liberty University (VA) as an honor graduate, with a major in Elementary Education Interdisciplinary Studies and a minor in Christian Counseling. She also honorably served in the U.S. Army National Guard, earning multiple honors and awards over the course of six years, and completing trainings and missions in South Carolina, Virginia, Germany, and Minnesota. Over the years, she’s used her education and unique experiences in a wide variety of settings. Corrine has served as a Platoon Leader in the Army National Guard, a VBS coordinator at various churches, a Certified Nursing Assistant at Minnewaska Lutheran Home, an employee entrusted with a host of operations in the Minnesota Dept. of Transportation, a licensed provider of in-home child care, and a homeschool mom, not to mention a host of other titles!

Since accepting Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at the age of 10, Corrine has had a keen awareness of the essential human need for the mercy, grace, forgiveness, and reconciliation that only Jesus can provide, has provided, and continues to provide because of what He accomplished on the cross. One of her favorite ways of serving to advance the Kingdom of God is through teaching children. She uses instructional methods that appeal to different learning styles and seeks to help children thrive educationally by helping them better understand their unique, amazing, and God-given learning styles and abilities.

Corrine’s greatest desire as part of the teaching staff at SJA is to provide discipleship, guidance, and truth-based teaching to elementary students. She’s passionate about helping students remain (or become) critically thinking, lifelong learners who seek and discern absolute Truth. A guiding verse for her life and teaching is John 14:6, “I (Jesus) am the way and the truth and the life.”

Corrine is married to her best friend, Brian. They, along with their two children, Taylor and Austin, live on the farm where Brian was raised, in rural Farwell, Minnesota. The Bennetts enjoy tending to their crops and animals as well as doing a host of other outdoor activities, including camping, snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, attending dirt track racing, and going to Taylor and Austin’s sporting events. They also cherish times of fellowship with family and friends.

The Bennetts attend St. John’s Lutheran Church (LCMC) near the rural town of Cyrus.
