Jason Tiegen

Cross Country Coach

Jason brings a wealth of technical expertise and a passion for making learning fun to his role at Sacred Journey Academy. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology, and his professional career spans 17 years in the U.S. Air Force where he served as a flight test engineer and computer engineer, working with satellites and cybersecurity. After retiring from the Air Force, he went on to work for Raytheon Technologies in computer security.

Ministry-wise, Jason has served in various capacities at his church, including as a Past Sparks leader for AWANA and leader for Vacation Bible School games. He finds deep fulfillment in teaching children through interactive games as a means of fostering their spiritual growth.

Jason and his wife, Kimberlie, have four boys – Jacob, Luke, Jared, and Matthew. In his spare time, Tiegen enjoys pursuing hobbies like 3-D printing, laser engraving, pickleball, and watching hockey. His life motto is, “If you can be content with what you have and only want what you need, you’ll live a happy life.”

The Tiegens attend Alexandria Covenant Church.
