Heather Jeseritz

Board Chair

Heather Jeseritz felt God calling her to support Sacred Journey Academy even before it opened, placing a deep desire on her heart to pray for the school daily. She loves SJA’s Christ-centered mission and feels honored to be part of a community that actively lives out God’s call to make disciples.

Heather is a Director for a nonprofit focused on eliminating poverty by empowering individuals and strengthening communities. With expertise in grants management, leadership, and program development, she has presented at state and national levels and serves on multiple boards supporting mental health, homelessness prevention, and rural development.

Faith is central to Heather’s life. A member of Alexandria Covenant Church, she serves on the Worship Team and has previously been a Sunday school leader and church board member. She is passionate about Bible study, having completed the Chronological Bible reading plan multiple times, with favorite studies including 1 Peter, Esther, Isaiah, and Luke. Seeing her adult children grow in their faith is one of her greatest blessings.

Heather finds joy in worship and studying Scripture, waking up each day excited to spend time in God’s Word. She strives to see everyone through the lens of Christ, often asking, “Would I say or do this if Jesus were in the room with me?” Her life motto reflects her heart for service:

“The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.”

Heather and her husband, Micheal, have six children, two sons-in-law, and two dogs. They live on Lake Minnewaska in Starbuck, enjoying the peaceful surroundings of their home. In her free time, she loves reading, studying the Bible, sewing, cooking, and organizing anything and everything!
