About Digital Discipleship

SJA has created this hub, Digital Discipleship, as an ongoing resource for SJA families to utilize trusted resources regarding digital safety. Check back frequently as we add more resources to aid in parenting a digital generation.

Parent Pledge

At Sacred Journey Academy, we believe childhood is sacred. It’s a time for imagination, friendship, and faith to flourish. A positive childhood lays the foundation for a meaningful adulthood, and delaying technology in the home is one of the most powerful ways to protect it. Obviously, technology has value, but when introduced too early, it can pull children away from the growth, rest, and real connection God intends for them.

We’re not anti-technology… we’re pro-childhood. Research and real-life experience show that delaying smartphones and social media:

  • Improves focus, sleep, and emotional health
  • Encourages creativity and strengthens family bonds
  • Reduces anxiety and depression
  • Supports healthy, real-world friendships

We are introducing a Parent Pledge that we want every family to consider signing! It’s a pledge that commits to raising our children with similar tech values, making it easier for every child to thrive without the pressure of phones and social media too soon.

Choosing to wait on smartphones and social media helps guard your child’s heart and keeps their childhood unhurried.
